Over the last year, I’ve found several different places on the internet to look for freelance writing jobs, but I do have one favorite that I visit faithfully every morning during the week as I start my day. That favorite site is FreelanceWritingGigs.com.
It is a simple site; just a listing of current advertisements for writers, editors, proofreaders, bloggers and the like. The ads are ones that you could find yourself (and which some other sites will charge you a membership fee to view on their sites). The ads come from places like craigslist and Bloggerpro and a few other sites online where employers post ads looking for freelancers.
The great thing about the list provided by FreelanceWritingGigs.com is that: Number one, it is provided free to everyone and number two, it saves the freelancer the time of trying to look through the craigslist ads and problogger ads themselves. In addition, the website categorizes the ads for you into categories like: blogging jobs, copywriting jobs, proofreading/editing jobs, travel writing, business writing, journalism, grant writing or magazine articles. All you have to do is browse the list and click on any links that may be of interest to you. They also attempt to provide information on whether the ad is focused on a particular location or if it is open to remote freelancers.
To me, it is like my morning glance at the want ad section of the newspaper, only it is online and not limited to my local area and only the lists the types of jobs I’m looking for. They’ve recently added informational blog articles as well that provide tips for freelance writers.
Stop by and check it out while you drink your morning coffee.
